How Great is Our God

Posted for the benefit of the CCS senior classes who watched this with me in choir today.  Yes.  Choir class.  It was thought to be the best way to understand Chris Tomlin's song:  How Great is Our God. Here's the chance to catch the last ten minutes we missed in class today.
An important spirit-enriching, life-altering video for those of us who need to hear how much we are loved by Our Awesome Galactic God who simply "breathed" the vast cosmos into being and whose mark we bear in the very protein molecules that hold our bodies together...
And who of us does not need to hear this?
Just press play.
Commit to watching in silence without distraction for 40 minutes.
Prepare to be changed.

Sara Groves

For those looking for something new in the CD/Ipod player, allow me to recommend my latest object of respectful adoration....
I also love her perspective (interview below) and can hear that coming through loud & clear in her musical style and lyricism.  Enjoy!

Risky recommendation....

Skip the Christmas present thing and take your family to a live Messiah concert this year in some terrific cathedral. It will become one of the 'awesome' lifelong memories of childhood, guaranteed.

The Easter Program

Thank you Covenant Community for presenting the Easter message with such joy and finesse!
Thank you Miss J for capturing the essence of it with your video camera ... allowing us many "repeat performances" :)

Making the Most of March Break

Gotcha Todd!
Luv y'all!
27 choristers for three hours? They were as stellar as the sunshine outdoors!
Wonderful, Warm and yes - Wet bums!

A picnic sort of lunch in the great outdoors on March 17.
Who would have guessed?
They got rhythm a plenty!
Girl power ... Woot!
Songbirds
See what I mean?

The young male choir contingent - these guys did really well

This week in choir I shamelessly promoted a new album by Carolyn Arends entitled Love Was Here First. Those who know me well, (and I'm assuming that CCS students & staff do!:) know that I am a HUGE fan of her thoughtful and unique style of songwriting. This album is her 10th I believe and purported to be her strongest writing yet. The bonus is, with this post you get to listen to it yourself before running out to buy your own copy! Just click on the album title and you're in business!
(My two favourites? Track 5 I Am A Soul and Track 6 Willing)
